BUA unfolds plan to open a new cement plant in Sokoto next January

BUA Group has announced plans to open a new cement production plant in Sokoto State come January 2024.

The Chairman of BUA Group, Abdulsamad Rabiu, who made the announcement in Sokoto during his visit to the State Governor, Ahmad Aliyu in Sokoto on Wednesday, said the company was working to ensure the new plant, currently under construction would be completed on schedule.

Rabiu informed the governor that during his meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday in Abuja he personally informed him of the company’s intention to open the new plant next year to make cement available in the Nigerian market.

“We extended an invitation to the President to be our special guest at the inauguration,” he said, adding that BUA Cement in Sokoto remained the largest private enterprise with the highest workforce in the entire North-West region of the nation.

While expressing gratitude to the people of the state for providing a conducive business environment, Rabiu pledged the company’s unwavering support for the state government to grow the economy.

He gave the assurance that the company would remain committed to supporting the interests of the host communities through various social intervention initiatives and programmes.

Responding, the governor commended BUA Group for its contributions to the state’s development through its social responsibility programmes, describing the company’s efforts as remarkable.

The governor pledged continuous support from his administration to investors in the state. (NAN)
