The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on Thursday said it has successfully recovered the National electricity transmission grid and normal transmission of electricity restored in less than 24 hours.
MIn a statement on Thursday, Mba said: “The TCN restored bulk power to all the 330kV Transmission Stations across the entire grid by 5.54pm yesterday (Wednesdauyei. The Kainji – Birnin Kebbi line however tripped on fault but was restored.
TCNs 330kV substations feed 132kV substations, through which Distribution Companies offten electricity they deliver to electricity consumers nationwide.
On Wednesday, TCN appealed to electricity consumers to remain calm, while its officials work to recover a total system collapse of the national grid which it confirmed occured at about 11.01 am, May 12, 2021 Mba saithe national systems collapse occured as a result of voltage crash at some parts of the grid.
Mba assured electricity consumers of the effort by the TCN to work towards the immediate recovery of the grid from Shiroro Generating Station to Katampe Transmission Station; Abuja through the Shiroro – Katampe line.
Also, Mba said there were/veey through Delta Generating Station to Benin Transmission Substation, reaching Osogbo and parts of Lagos.
