The enforcement of the compulsory insurance policy by Nigerians is to commence in the next couple of weeks throughout the Federal Capital Territory, the National Insurance Commission announced on Thursday.

Ahead of the exercise, the Commission organised a sensitisation workshop for the Joint Task Force that would be involved in the enforcement in the FCT as a pilot scheme for the entire country.

The workshop was aimed at sensitising members of the Taskforce on the requirements of the law with respect to the compulsory insurances as well as the enforcement modalities to be adopted by the taskforce Committee.

The Taskforce comprises of the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Road Safety Corp, the Federal Fire Service, FCT Fire Service, Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO), the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory Administration.
