Transactions approved for execution in the country’s energy sector tops the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) work plan for 2022, the privatization agency has disclosed.

The disclosure followed the approval of the workplan by the National Council on Privatisation (NCP), presided by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.

In the approved work plan, a total of 42 transactions are proposed for execution during the year.

These transactions are 11 in the Energy Sector; 10 in the Industries and Services Sector; eight in the Agriculture and Natural Services Sector, and 13 in the Infrastructure and Public Private Partnership (IPPP) sector.

At the end of its first meeting for 2022 held in Abuja, the NCP also approved the Bureau’s 2022 Revenue and Expenditure, including the 2022 workplan risks and mitigation plans.

At the end of every year, the privatization agency conducts a postmortem review of its activities and achievements before preparing its current year’s work plan.

The detailed work plan contains the deliverables and their costs as well as revenue estimates for the incoming year for consideration and approval by the NCP.

The workplan, which is a compendium of the various projects and reform initiatives the BPE intends to carry out in 2022, provides the framework for tracking the implementation and realisation of the approved projects.
