Full operations restored on  Escravos–Lagos pipeline, says NNPC Ltd

Normal operations have fully been restored on the Escravos–Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS) which was breached in Warri, Delta State, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited said on Monday.

The Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the
NNPC Ltd, Andy Odeh, said operations on the pipeline was disrupted following the unexpected explosion on December 10, 2025.

As a result of the explosion, Odeh said the company immediately activated its emergency response, by deploying a coordinated containment measures to çurtail the impact to the environment.

The emergency response team, he said, worked tirelessly with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the damaged section was repaired, pressure-tested, and the facility safely recommissioned.

“Today, the NNPC Limited is pleased to announce the successful restoration of normal operations on pipeline, which is fully operational, reaffirming our resilience and commitment to energy security* Odeh said.

He said the achievement was made possible through the unwavering support of NNPC Ltd. host communities, the guidance of the regulatory authorities, the vigilance of security agencies, and the dedication of its partners and staff.

“Together, we turned a challenging moment into a success story, restoring operations in record time, while upholding the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship,” he said.

“As we move forward, NNPC Limited remains steadfast in its pledge to protect our environment, safeguard our communities, and maintain the integrity and reliability of our assets. Thank you for your trust as we continue to power progress for Nigeria and beyond,” he added.
