A National Oil Companies (NOCs) Forum would provide the platform to promote a common agenda for Africa’s energy security during the forthcoming 7th Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES 2024) scheduled for between Monday, February 26 and Friday, March 1, 2024.
Organizers said the Forum would bring together Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and key stakeholders from various African NOCs who have confirmed their participation in the conference.
The Summit would promise to be a pivotal moment for shaping the future of the energy sector under the sub-theme “Sustainable Strategies for Energy Leadership: Navigating Security, Transition, and Finance in a Changing World,”
The NOCs Forum scheduled for Day 3 of the summit, Wednesday February 28, 2024, would open with an opening address by Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, followed a session in which CEOs representing leading NOCs across Africa would participate.
The expected panelists during the session would include the Group CEO of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari; National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines (ONHYM), Morocco, Amina BENKHADRA; Société Nationale des Opérations Pétrolières of Cote d’Ivoire (PETROCI), Mme. SANOGO FATOUMATA M’BALOU, , Sociedade Nacional de Combustíveis de Angola, E.P (SONANGOL), Sebastiâo Gaspar Martins Guinea Ecuatorial De Petroleos (GEPETROL); Mme. Teresa Isabel Nnang Avomo, La Société Pétrolière du Sénégal (PETROSEN), Adama Dialo, General Manager, Strategy & Investments, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Kwame Baah-Nuakoh, amongst others.
“The NOCs Forum aims to explore sustainable strategies for energy leadership amidst evolving challenges in security, transitioning to renewable sources, and financing initiatives in a rapidly changing global landscape. By fostering collaboration and innovation, energy leaders can navigate the transition towards a more sustainable and resilient energy future,” the organisers said.
They said NIES 2024 would present a landmark opportunity for Africa’s National Oil Companies to collaborate and shape the trajectory of the continent’s energy landscape.

The NOCs Forum at NIES 2024 would provide valuable insights and actionable recommendations for energy leaders in Africa amidst evolving challenges and opportunities in the global energy landscape.
