NPF Pensions Limited takes pension sensitization, awareness to Southwest

To create awareness about the benefits of pensions, the management of NPF Pensions Limited recently undertook the sensitization of its customers across Nigeria’s Southwestern states.

The sensitization exercise covered Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti states reaching over 1,500 officers across various cadres, including Commissioners of Police in the states and Assistant Inspectors-General (AIGs).

The recently concluded week-long initiative was designed to reignite the interest of the Police officers in the Contributory Pension Scheme and keep them abreast of all the major updates in the contributory pension scheme (CPS) which has continued to evolve over the years.

The sessions were conducted by the Company’s Executive Management Team, led by the Managing Director/CEO, Dr. Kolade Morakinyo.

During the sessions, the highly interactive and impactful exercise saw the Executive Director, Corporate Services, Mrs. Priscillia Egede-Njowusi, Heads of Departments and Southwest Regional Managers involved in different aspects of the programme.

The organizers said the sensitization exercise was in line with the company’s customer-centric policy to deepen stakeholders engagement by way of one-on-one session that seek to reinforce trust, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and deepen understanding of the CPS amongst the Nigeria Police Force personnel.

The sensitization exercise covered key Police Formations and Commands in the above-mentioned states.

The MD/CEO, NPF Pensions Limited, Dr. Kolade Morakinyo said, “this exercise spanning across all Police Formations and Commands in the above-mentioned states, is critical step toward building trust, correcting misconceptions, and offering practical solutions to issues affecting our esteemed Police officers’ Retirement Benefits.

As part of our ongoing commitment to service improvement and digital transformation of the Company, Morakinyo said the company was poised at continuing to leverage on its technology, which the Company places a premium, to continue to render unparalleled customer service to Police officers.

During the sensitization programme, the unique advantages of the CPS were presented as NPF Pensions to sustain the trajectory of excellent performance in area of return on investment on customers’ RSA funds, having held the industry position for two consecutive years as the PFA with the highest return on investment over 38% in 2024.

The NPF Pensions, he said, would continue to collaborate with both the regulatory agency, the National Pensions Commission (PenCom) and the Police Management Team to explore ways to get enhanced welfare packages for Police Officers at retirement.

The Executive Director, Corporate Services, while addressing officers of the Nigeria Police Force, encouraged those who are yet to transfer to NPF Pensions Limited to do so to benefit from the enhanced retirement package being developed in collaboration with the Police Management Team.

She further urged all officers to notify NPF Pensions Limited whenever they are promoted, so that their records can be promptly and accurately updated.

The bottom-line of CPS, she said, was benefits paid at retirement, which is the reason NPF Pensions is craving the indulgence of Officers to make time to go through their statements and ensure their accounts are update regularly for seamless benefit processing at retirement.

Officers expressed a desire for enhanced digital tools and real-time updates, along with a renewed trust and willingness to collaborate with NPF Pensions Limited.

The Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Zone 2, Adegoke Fayode affirmed that all the information shared by the NPF Pensions Limited is for the benefit of all officers and men of the Force.

He emphasized the importance of the message, noting that it was aimed at improving the welfare and operational effectiveness of personnel.

The Commissioner of Police Lagos, Jimoh Moshood urged the Police Officers present especially the Area Commanders and DPOs to ensure that the information is cascaded to others in their respective Commands and Formations so that they will be abreast of the information.
