The new Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), Bayo Ojulari, on Friday took over officially the reins of office from his predecessor, Mele Kolo Kyari.
In a brief but solemn handover ceremony held at the NNPC Towers in Abuja, Ojulari acknowledged the achievements of the Kyari-led management and commended his contributions to the growth of the NNPC Ltd.
He described Kyari’s service to the nation throughout his tenure as NNPC Ltd’s helmsman as sterling, disclosing that his management objective would be to work towards consolidating on the successes, to take the company to the next level.
He said although the targets set for his management by President Bola Tinubu were quite enormous, he would rely on the co-operation of the management and staff of the company, as well as the counsel of his predecessor to succeed.
“There is no doubt that the task ahead is enormous. But I will count on your (Kyari’s) support to succeed. I will need it. I will be coming around to seek
your wise counsel,” Ojulari told Kyari.
Earlier in his remarks, Kyari congratulated his successor on his appointment, while thanking the management
and staff of the company for their support during his tenure.
He pledged to do everything within his powers to be available to support the new management to succeed.
“Let me assure you that at any time you need my attention over any issue, l am only a call away. So, do not hesitate to reach out”, he said.
