The management of Abuja Continental Hotel, formerly Sheraton Abuja, says it is investing heavily in upgrading its facilities and staff to guarantee the best experience for its guests.

Its Group General Manager, Karl Hala, said on Wednesday during a chat with some tourism industry editors on tour of the hotel in Abuja that the hotel has undergone significant transformation since its acquisition by the Continental Hotels Group.
With a focus on modernity and excellence, Hala said the hotel has its eyes set on becoming a landmark destination for guests in Nigeria’s hospitality industry.
Emphasizing the importance of providing world-class facilities and services to guests, the General Manager said: “We want to be the place to meet in Abuja. We’re investing heavily in our facilities and staff to ensure that we provide the best possible experience for our guests.”
Karl said the hotel’s renovations include the refurbishment of its Convention Centre, the provision of additional meeting rooms, and the redesign of its guest rooms, while the sports village, which features a gym, tennis courts, and paddle courts, is also undergoing extensive upgrade.
“With its new facilities and services, the Abuja Continental Hotel is poised to become a leading destination for business and leisure for travellers in Nigeria,” he said.
On human capital development, he said the Abuja Continental Hotel was committed to investing in the future of its staff to enable them update their knowledge about qualitative customer service.
Besides, he said the hotel’s management has implemented a range of training programmes and initiatives to develop the skills and knowledge of its employees.
“Our staff are our greatest asset. We want to provide them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their careers,” he said.
The hotel, he said, has partnered with local institutions to provide training programmes for its staff, apart from a range of initiatives to develop the skills and knowledge of its employees, including mentorship programmes and on-the-job trainings.
With the commitment to staff development, said the Abuja Continental Hotel was poised to become a leading employer in Nigeria’s hospitality industry.
