The Open Government Partnership (OGP) Nigeria has announced the selection of eminent civil society group representatives to join its National Steering Committee 111.
The selected CSO representatives include the Executive Director, Centre for Transparency Advocacy (CTA), Faith Nwadishi; the Executive Director, Socio-Economic Development & Research Centre, Abuja, Tijani Abdulkareem; Executive Director, HEDA Resource Centre, Lagos, Olarenwaju Suraju; Executive Director, Order Paper, Abuja, Oke Epia, and Executive Director, Policy Alert, Uyo, Tijah Bolton-Akpan
The OGP Secretariat said the selection of the new members followed a month-long process to fill vacant positions in the OGP NSC 111.
The OGP is a multilateral initiative that aims to secure concrete commitments from national and sub-national governments to promote open government, empower citizens, fight corruption, and harness new technologies to strengthen governance.
The steering Committee, which include representatives of governments and civil society organisations, is charged with the responsibility of overseeing the OGP in the spirit of multi-stakeholder collaboration.
