Fraudsters are scamming unsuspecting Nigerians of their hardearned money with empty promises to get them employment in NIRSAL Microfinance bank, its management has cried out.
Spokesperson for NMFB, Hajia Halimatu Lawal said in Abuja the bank has been inundated with calls and visits from concerned members of the public have fallen prey to the fraudsters said to operating across the country.
Lawal said the Management of NIRSAL Microfinance Bank Limited was aware some suspected fraudsters have been issuing spurious letters of employment to unsuspecting members of the public in exchange for pecuniary benefits.
She could not however confirm if the matter has been brought to the attention of any of the anti-crime or corruption agencies, like the police and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) by the bank.
She however warned members of the public to be wary of the activities of the prowling fraudsters, and “to cease and desist from issuing any financial or non-financial consideration to any person(s) whomsoever, in exchange for purported promise for 1employment with the bank”.
“NIRSAL Microfinance Bank Limited will never request for payment of any fees, commission or other financial inducement or commitment by whatsoever description from prospective employees,” she said.
The NMFB’s employment process, she added, “is open, transparent and in accordance with recognized industry best practices.”
She advised members of the public to promptly report to the bank or any of the anti-crime or anti-corruption agencies anybody or group of persons making demands for payment of any money or any form of gratification over any promise of employment opportunity in the bank for action.
