Strict compliance with service regulations and procedures in establishment matters would ensure Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) stand the test of time, the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF), Folasade Yemi-Esan has said.
Yemi-Esan told heads of government agencies that not following proper structures in handling official matters may not help them weather possible storms in the future.
The Head of Civil Service was speaking when the Chairman of Competition and Consumption Tribunal (CCPT), Saratu Shafi and the Executive Vice Chairman, Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), Babatunde Irukera visited her in Abuja on Thursday.
The HoSF urged the Commission to be prepared to defend its manpower position so as to have a solid structure from the start, adding that the organisation must stand firm and be strong.
Urging the Commission to ensure that essential manpower budgeting was carried out properly before recruitment, Yemi-Esan assured that her Office would render the necessary support to enable the Commission achieve its mandate.
Earlier, the Vice-Chairman of the FCCPC, Babatunde Irukera said the agency would appreciate the assistance of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation on issues relating to organogram, recruitment, training and accommodation to enhance smooth take off.
Nigeria, Irukera said, was one of the top 19 countries that did not embrace the competition framework in time, thereby giving rein to business monopoly.
He said this has now been redressed as competitiveness has been added to the mandate of the Commission, noting that this will go a long way in breaking monopoly in the scheme of things.
