The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday reported fresh 917 Coronavirus (COVID-19) infections in 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The new cases bring Nigeria’s total infections so far to about 90,080 out of about 955,429 persons that undergone tests for the disease since the first confirmed COVID-19 case was reported in February 27, 2020.
Besides, the agency confirmed that 75,044 persons have so far been discharged after being treated of the infection, while 1,311 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the FCT.
The public health centre also reported nine new deaths in the last 24 hours in the country, with 255 recoveries.
Details of the infections showed that the FCT recorded the highest number for the day with 222 cases, followed by Lagos, Kaduna, and Plateau states with 214, 119, and 92 reported cases respectively.
The other states affected included Nasarawa, 50 new infections, Oyo (41), Adamawa (33), Ondo (32), Abia (28), Ogun (19), Rivers (17), Kano (16), Yobe (14), Edo (8), Anambra (6), Ekiti (5), and Jigawa (1).
The NCDC said a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC) activated at Level 3 continued to coordinate the national response activities to curb the spread of the deadline disease.MEDIATRACNET
